In July, the whole of Provence is alive with the scent and color of
lavender
Smell Provence
The olives, vines, oak trees, and rosemary bushes, the pollen which
the Provence bees love produces excellent varieties of local honey
from lavender to rosemary. Mid January is the period to set out on
the "mimosa trail" in the pleasant winter sunshine, surrounded
by sumptuous landscapes, passing through 8 delightful stopovers –
St Maxime and St Raphael being two of them and finishing in Grasse
where the Mimosa perfume is made. In February visit the Mimosa festival
in Mandelieu – near Frejus. In fact every month has a special
reason to visit Provence and usually a festival to celebrate it too.
